House of Wax Build your candle
For people starting out

Start a candle brand without pouring a single candle.

You build the brand, the audience and the sales. We make the candles. Begin at 50, so your first run costs hundreds rather than thousands.

01The problem

Everything you would otherwise have to buy first

No equipmentNo melters, pouring jugs, racking or scales. No second hand kit off a Facebook group.
No premisesNo unit, no rent, no insurance on a workshop you are barely using yet.
No inventoryNo drums of fragrance, pallets of wax or boxes of glass tying up money before you have a single sale.
No pouring daysNo evenings lost to wax. The part that does not grow the business stops eating your week.
No ceilingGo from 50 to a few thousand a month without buying a thing.
02How it works

Three decisions, then we make it

Step 01

Choose your candle

One production tested candle to start with. 30cl glass, 200g of soy wax, around 45 to 50 hours of burn. You are not designing a product from scratch, you are choosing one that already works.

Step 02

Make it yours

Pick a fragrance, upload your label artwork, and we print it here. There is no minimum on labels, which is the reason a run of 50 is possible at all.

Step 03

We manufacture

We pour it, cure it for 14 days, check every one against your specification and send it to you boxed and ready to sell.

03The numbers

What would this actually make you?

Start with 100 and your own retail price. The honest question is not what your margin looks like, it is what is left after it costs you something to find each customer.

Gross Before your costs

We charge you, per candle—
The run costs you—
—

This is the number most manufacturers stop at.

Net After them

Break even retail price—
A month at your volume—
—

Adjust your own costs. These are per candle, so split anything you pay per order.
IndicativeOur manufacturing price is modelled from current supplier rates and measured production times and is not yet a confirmed price. Your own costs are defaults you should change to your real ones.
04What you bring

Two things. That is the whole list.

A label design. A PDF, AI, EPS or SVG at 300 dpi, CMYK, with 3mm of bleed. We preflight it and show you a proof before anything is printed. If you do not have a designer, we can put the artwork together for you.

A fragrance. Pick one from the House Collection, which is already burn tested in this exact candle, and you can run 50. That is it. Everything else, the vessel, the wax, the wick, the cure, the hazard label, the boxing, is ours.

05The objections

The things people ask before they commit

What does a first run actually cost?A run of 50 is £447.50 of candles plus delivery, indicative. That is the whole outlay to have a real, finished, sellable product with your name on it.
Is 50 really enough to start? It is enough to test whether anyone wants it, which is the only thing that matters at the start. Most manufacturers push you to 500 because their label printer has a minimum. Ours does not.
How long until I have stock?About 17 working days for 50 units from artwork approval. Ten of those are the cure and we do not shorten it.
Is it really my brand?Entirely. Your name is on the label, you own the artwork, and we do not put our mark on your product. If you bring your own fragrance we will not pour it for anyone else.
